Originally from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in North Wales, Gethin Bickerton graduated in 2017 with a First Class BA Hons degree in Theatre and Drama from The University of South Wales in Cardiff.
Throughout his life, singing and acting have always been passions of his. He was a member of Maldwyn School of Theatre in mid Wales for 7 years, and has performed in two new musicals with the Urdd Youth Theatre.
During his time in Cardiff, he performed in the World Premiere of ‘Columbine‘, a new musical theatre piece composed by Michael Lowe, at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama; joined Choir CF1 and the BBC National Chorus of Wales, and passed his grade 8 ABRSM Singing Exam with Distinction. He had also worked in various creative roles with companies such as Theatr Na nÓg and Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru. He was an ambassador for Theatr Na nÓg; participating in many script readings and development, and also assisted with the design of the set for one of their productions (/ for their production, ‘Would You Jump?’); and has worked as a Front of house manager on productions by Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru.
This year, Gethin has just finished touring a TIE performance with Performance in Education, and is currently working with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru as an Artistic Assistant on one of their touring productions, and working with a translation App called ‘Sibrwd’, which makes Welsh-language production more accessible.
In his spare time, Gethin enjoys working at home on the family farm in North wales, running theatre workshops for young people, singing, writing short plays, and developing some of his own projects that he would, one day, love to see on the stage.
